YSRCP accuses Andhra Pradesh government of using police to “intimidate” opposition

YSRCP leader Ramakrishna Reddy on Monday accused Andhra Pradesh’s NDA coalition government of “abuse of police to intimidate the opposition” and weakened the institutional framework across the state. Reddy addressed the party leaders at the YSRCP headquarters, condemning circle inspectors for alleged harassment of former minister Vidadala Rajini, saying it was evidence of blatant abuse of power and authoritarianism. Recently, the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) booked a senior IPS official, Rajini, and two others were for extorted Rs 22 crore for allegedly ransomware from the owner of the Sri Lakshmi Balaji stone crusher in Edlapadu, Parnadu region.
“Police are used to intimidate those who question the failure of the government,” said YSRCP Andhra Coordinator Reddy during the release.
At the same time, the YSRCP leaders also accused the government of bypassing legal provisions and denying DGP-level complaint hearings, thereby “blocking misconduct” and “undermining the judicial mechanism.”

They called for an immediate restoration of institutional integrity, urging neutral policing and equal treatment of all political voices to uphold democratic values ​​in the state.
