Police train girls to defend themselves

Nizamabad: In a proactive program, Nizamabad police will hold a free self-defense training camp for girls aged 14 to 18 during the summer vacation. The week-long camp will begin on April 25 at the RBVRR school venue in Nizamabad.
Training will be held from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. and breakfast will be provided to all participants. The plan will include meetings on self-defense skills, motivation negotiations and guidance on preventing crimes against women.
Chief P. Sai Chaitanya, the policeman who initiated the initiative, said the camp was designed to strengthen confidence among girls and to face challenging situations. Police officials and motivational speakers will speak to participants during the meeting.
Interested candidates can register their details at the Nizamabad Police Station. For more information, they can contact 90009 94312. Some sponsors have also expanded their support for the program.
“We expect a good response. This training will help girls build confidence and effectively address adverse situations,” the commissioner told Deccan Chronicle.
