Zelenskyy accuses Putin of breaking Easter truce

The Russian president announced a temporary pause in a surprise statement on Saturday.
He told Russian army chief Valery Gerasimov that the bombing would not be restored until 10 p.m. on Sunday.
“Based on humanitarian considerations…Russia has announced an Easter truce. I have ordered all military activities to be stopped during this period.
“We assume that Ukraine will follow our example. At the same time, our troops should be prepared to repel possible violations of the enemy’s armistice and provocation.”
But in a statement released on X on Sunday morning, Zelenskyy said that 387 shellings and 19 attacks had occurred in Russian troops as the ceasefire had begun.
The Ukrainian president said Russia also used 290 drones.
He added: “In general, as of Easter morning, we can point out that Russian troops are trying to create a general impression of a ceasefire, while in some areas they continue to move forward in isolation and cause losses to Ukraine.
“Russia must fully comply with the conditions of the ceasefire. Ukraine’s proposal to implement and extend the ceasefire after midnight tonight is still on the table. We will take action as it is in the actual situation in the local area.”
