Zelestra appoints Prashant Kumar as Chief Financial Officer of India Division

Spanish Renewable Energy Major Zelestra has appointed Prashant Kumar as chief financial officer in his Indian division.

Kumar joins Zelestra from Fortum India Pvt. Limited, he serves as Chief Financial Officer. In his new job, he will report to Sajay KV, CEO of Zelestra India business.

The company statement said Thursday that the new CFO will focus on strengthening financial governance, driving strategic plans and optimizing capital efficiency to support business expansion. “He will strengthen Zelestra’s commitment to the sustainability, scalability and digitalization of the Indian market while making our financial strategy and long-term value creation,” it said.

He has twenty years of experience in financial leadership positions in companies including Tata Power Solar, Lanco Solar and Indusind Bank. The statement said he had previously worked in the fields of financial business, fund management, capital raising and project financing.

Commenting on his appointment, Kumar said: “Zelestra is growing among India, with some major contracts recently signed and a lot of work is underway to provide highly complex multi-tech projects. The pipeline continues to grow, but the opportunities are wide and the opportunities are great. It’s an exciting time to join.”

Sajay KV noted that the company’s wind, solar and BES technologies totaled more than 5GW, with three major construction projects this year.

“This accelerated growth means we need a senior leadership team to ensure we face all the challenges ahead. So, welcome the fun of Prashant.”

Zelestra has a carbon-free portfolio of over 29GW, so it specializes in developing, commercializing, building and operating large-scale renewable energy projects. It is supported by the Swedish global investment organization EQT.
