The operation was conducted by Market Police Inspector Siddanna Girigaudar, as well as food inspectors and other police officers, under the direction of Bidar Police Pradeep Gunti and other SP Chandrakant Pujari.
During Monday’s raid, officials found 243 bags of PDS rice stored in a locked store. Due to the absence of the store owner, the team locked the lock in the presence of food department officials and witnesses and confirmed that the rice was conducted under the PDS plan. Food inspectors Shobha and Ramratan Degale confirmed that the stock is indeed PDS rice, designed to be distributed publicly.
After the seizure, a case was registered with the Market Police Department, invoking Sections 3 and 7 of the Basic Commodity Act. A defendant has been booked and further investigation is underway.
