6 includes 5 Med students who died on the road
Nellol: Six people, including five medical students, died in a car accident near Pothireddypalem on Wednesday afternoon and approached the Nellor-Mumbai National Highway on Wednesday afternoon.
According to police, the deceased has been identified as 65-year-old N. Venkata Ramanaiah, a local resident, a second-year MBBS student at Narayana Medical College: Gurram Yagnesh of Ongole, L. Naresh Naik of Dharmavaram (Anantapur District) Jeevan Chandra Reddy of Siddipuram, Sangam Mandal.
Mydukur’s V. Navneeth Shankar was also in the car and was seriously injured and is currently receiving treatment at Narayana Hospital.
The incident happened when the student rushed back to college after the engagement ceremony of his classmate in Buchireddypalem. The car was reportedly driven by Navneeth at high speed and lost control after hitting a mound on the side of the road and hitting a shop on the house. The impact was so severe that the police had to work hard to retrieve the body from the confused vehicle. Earlier in the day, the group had already attended classes until 10:30 a.m. before setting off in a car owned by one of the victims Jeevan Chandra Reddy.
