MP begins investigation into WAQF Board of Directors Property

Bhopal: The Madhya Pradesh government has begun an investigation into the state’s WAQF board of directors’ property.
The WAQF Amendment was adopted in Parliament, so physical verification of WAQF property must be carried out.
The verification involved documenting the lease and occupying the status of the properties, senior state tax bureau officials said Monday.
Madhya Pradesh currently owns 23,118 WAQF properties.
The focus will be on the 14,986 land properties in the verification campaign, including homes, shops, land and buildings, the source said.
Meanwhile, Madrasa, the Madhya Pradesh regional headquarters, has been “voluntarily” demolished by its sponsors since it was built on government land.
This is the first case in Madrasa built on state government land after the WAQF Amendment passed in parliament.
