Inter students keep Tele Manas phone busy

Hyderabad: Tele Manas of the 24/7 Mental Health Hotline is receiving calls about students dealing with test performance stress and anxiety about future students, as Intermediate Results Program announced Tuesday.

Students can contact Tele Manas via phone number 14416.

From the completion of the exam from March 25 to April 20, they received calls from 93 students. These include calls related to stress (24), anxiety (16), insomnia (11), and reassessment and other queries (42).

The counselor advises students to stay emotionally strong, emphasizing that the exam comes every year, and the purpose of the exam is to make life progress. Whatever the result is, it will never be final. By improving their speaking skills, students can improve their performance. Performance should not be considered permanent.

“Parents should not put pressure on students or constantly ask about their traces, nor should they compare their children’s grades to others,” said P. Jawaharlal Nehru, a psychologist at Tele Manas.

“They should provide emotional support and attend the child. For example, when a student scores 85 out of 100 points, he or she sees it as under 90. It’s hard to predict how young people respond to this stress. We receive a lot of calls related to career choices and stress. It’s related to grades. Intermediate is a turning point, not a turning point, not a lifelong life.

He added: “There are many career paths. Students need to focus on developing their skills and communication skills.”

Counselors encourage students to take advantage of Tele Manas services, assured them that they are available 24 hours a day. Students can call without hesitation and their identities will remain confidential.

“It’s a crucial period for us and we’re seeing an increase in the number of calls. Some students report anxiety about the results and ask what they can do to manage it. I suggest they will get scores based on their performance and urge them not to get caught in the rat race,” said Shrishanthi of Psychiatry.

A student who was anxious about the exam center called back and said she followed our tips, which helped her perform well without fear. Acceptance is important. Students must be encouraged to do better, but not compare with others. “They can call us anytime, even anonymously,” said consultant Deedepiya Sarojini.
