The Church mourns the death of Pope Francis

Hyderabad: Catholic churches and institutions across Hyderabad held a special Requiem mass on Monday night, while Cardinal Poola Anthony (currently traveling from Kurnore to the city) officially announced the formal mourning period for all Archbishop’s offices and schools.
The Cardinal spoke over the phone, calling Pope Francis “a prophet of mercy and apostle on the edge”, adding: “His purpose is a living gospel – to reach the periphery, to support the poor, and to remind the church that it must be a field hospital, not a training hospital.”
Cardinal Anthony pointed out that Francis personally promoted Hyderabad to Cardinal College in 2022 and “dreaming of a church of poor and poor.”
According to the Conference of the Catholic Bishops of India (CCBI), the Catholic community is mourning the death of Pope Francis at 7.35 a.m. on Monday.
Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy expressed “deep shock and sorrow”, praising Pontiff’s advocacy for social justice, climate action and interfaith harmony. Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy said the pope’s love and compassion for peace will be remembered forever. ”
Father Victor Emmanuel, the Archdiocese prosecutor, said the name chosen by Pope Francis reflects “his Assisi is like a simple and deep desire for peace” and Dr. Swarna Bernard met the Pope in 2014 – his death “expressed a great loss to Donaldrodden and the world’s moral leaders.”
Under Pope Francis, the Vatican recently appointed Paul Prakash Saginala as the bishop of Kadapa, one of the Telugu bishops.
Further memorial service was held in Telangana this week, with the church bells charged every day at noon until the pope’s state funeral was held in Rome.
