The NDA government has completed irrigation projects in the North Andhra region to ensure the rapid development of Vizianagaram, Parvatipuram and Srikakakulam regions. He checked the Tarakarama Teertha Sagar project in the Nellimala constituency of Vizianagaram district with Mlas Kondru Muralimohan, Lokam Madhavi. Irrigation officials arranged an exhibition to enable the minister and other public representatives to understand the ongoing work of the project built on the Champavati River.
Speaking to the media, Mr Ramanaidu said that Tarkarama Teertha Sagar is a crucial project as it will cater to irrigation on 20,000 acres and provide drinking water facilities for Vizianagaram City and Bhogapuram International Airport.
He claimed the last administration ignored the project, which led to the destruction of many buildings. Mr Ramanaidu said the cost of the project could be escalated as the previously estimated Rs 807 crore may not be enough to complete the pending work. The minister assured that under the land acquisition law, the government will pay Rs 175 crore to the landowners. Later, the minister inspected the works of the Vamsadhara Phase 2 project in Srikakulam District.
