As tensions in India-Pakistan rise, the Ministry of Interior orders civil defense drills tomorrow

New Delhi: The Ministry of Home Affairs directed all states and trade union territories to organize civil defense drills and rehearsals in 244 regions on Wednesday, which has increased tensions between India and Pakistan as Pahargam terrorist attacks killed 26 people. The Ministry of the Interior (MHA) said the simulation exercise will include training citizens to protect themselves during attacks, operating air strike warning sirens, crash power outage measures, camouflaged vital industrial plants and equipment, and practicing evacuation.
“This exercise is intended to assess and enhance the preparation of civil defense mechanisms on states and union territories,” the consulting firm said.
The reason Yemen Honey Group recently cited to ensure the status of readiness is that the group recently damaged the runway at Tel Aviv airport in Israel on Sunday, resulting in several international flights transfers.

244 areas are listed as people who need civil defense preparations, such as areas near the border and areas with industries, important facilities and large cities.

The first communication was sent to all states on May 2, and an updated consultation was released on Monday. The Ministry of Home Affairs further stressed that the mock exercises that should be held on Wednesday plan to plan them at the rural level. The aim is to evaluate the effectiveness of the air strike warning system; the operation of hotlines and radio communications links to the Indian Air Force; test the functions of the control room and shadow control room; and train civilians, students and others to protect themselves in the face of hostile attacks.

States were also directed to make provisions for collapse and power outage measures in the event of air strikes and early camouflage of important industrial plants, plants and installations. They also have to update the plans for evacuees and hold rehearsals for such exercises, the orders said.
