HAJ flight operations begin in Kerala

The first pilgrims from Kerala made Jeddah in the early hours of Saturday under the supervision of the State Pilgrimage Council. Air India Flight IX 3011 took off from Karipur at 12.45 am and carried 172 pilgrims. As many as 95 of them are women.
The pilgrims arrived at Haji camp in Karipur Hauhaus on Friday morning. They held Juma prayers at the camp. Minister V. Abdurahiman, who is in charge of pilgrimage, unveiled the camp and bid farewell to the first pilgrims.
The second flight to J departed from Karipur at 4.30 pm, with 87 men and 86 women on board.
Officials said there will be three HAJ flights on Sunday, two from Kannur. Flights from Karipur will be taken at 12.55am, 8.50am and 4.30pm pilgrims on Sunday to Haj Camp on Saturday.

Haj Camp offers a variety of amenities, including medical facilities and currency exchange services. Due to international air traffic regulations, airlines operate HAJ flights have been imposing temporary luggage weight restrictions.
The minister urged pilgrims to pray for global peace, especially in light of the escalating border tensions. He advised them to take care of and preventive measures in the extreme heat of Saudi Arabia.
Husain Saqafi Chullikkode, chairman of the Pilgrimage Committee, presided over the inaugural function. P. Abdul Hameed (MLA) is the lead guest. Ahamed Devarkovil, MLA, TV IBRAHIM, MLA and PTA RAHEEM, MLA, Skoke. Syed Rasheedali Shihab led the prayer.
