Allahabad HC dismisses appeal for temple disputes in Sambar

The Allahabad High Court on Monday dismissed the request of the Mosque Commission, which investigated the Sambal Court’s orders in the dispute between Shahi Jama Masjid and Harihar Temple.
Justice Rohit Ranjan Agarwal previously retained the order on the matter after hearing attorneys at the Mosque Commission and plaintiff Hari Shanker Jain lawsuit and lawyers at Indian Archaeological Investigation Lawyers.
Management Committee Shahi Jama Masjid filed a lawsuit challenged by the High Court and a Sambhal Court Order, which directed the investigation through the Advocate Commissioner.
Jain and seven others filed a lawsuit in the senior civil judge’s department.
It claims that the mosque was built by Mughal Emperor Babur after the demolition of Harihar Mandir of Sambhal in 1526.
The High Court had previously continued further litigation in the trial court.
The plaintiff in the lawsuit claims to have the right to enter the religious venue in Mohalla Kot Purvi, Sambar area.
The committee claimed the lawsuit was filed at noon on November 19, 2024, and the judge appointed an advocate commissioner within hours and directed him to conduct a preliminary investigation at the mosque, which was conducted on the same day and on November 24, 2024.
The court also directed that the report of the investigation would be submitted by November 29.
