AIADMK Secretary General Edappadi K. Palaniswami said on Saturday that Chief Minister MK Stalin was “frustrated” after AIADMK’s alliance with BJP’s participation in the 2026 state parliamentary elections.

He said in a meeting of the Chennai Party organization that condemned the ruling's DMK, the chief minister questioned the decision of AIADMK to cooperate with the BJP. “This is our party. We are building a strong alliance with like-minded parties to strengthen our stance on dominating the DMK. Mr. Stalin's impression is that AIADMK will not be consistent with the BJP. But now we're together, he's frustrated, and he shows up in next year's election.

“The DMK has no principles or ideology. It seeks only power. In 1999, it formed an alliance with the BJP and enjoyed power in the center. However, five years later, it withdrew from the BJP-led coalition and in 2004 with Congress, only on power,” Mr Palaniswami said.

“It has been four years since the DMK took power in the state. During these four years, the ruling DMK has failed to provide any important plan for the people of Tamil Nadu. What initiatives have been introduced for the poor and marginalized sectors? They claim only that they have achieved only so many of Mr. Starling's only achievements. Focus on dynasty and family politics,” he said.

“The state of law and order has been deteriorating day by day under the DMK government. Murder has become common in the state… After taking office, the DMK increased electricity, property tax and registration fees, increasing the burden on the people of Tamil Nadu.
