Anil Ambani’s Reliance Power Ltd reported net profit of nearly Rs 126 crore (Rs 1256 crore) in the fourth quarter (January to March). In the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal year. The Ambani-led company had a net loss of Rs 3,976 crore, the company said in a regulatory filing.

It reported a decline in revenue and total revenue for the fourth quarter ended March 31 (Q4 25). Reliance Power’s operating revenue fell 1% to Rs 197.8 billion, down from Rs 199.97 billion in the same quarter (FY24) in the previous fiscal year, according to regulatory documents. Total revenue also fell 5.83% to Rs 2,066 crore, from Rs 2,1985 crore in the same period last year. As of May 10, the company’s market value was Rs 15,518 crore.

Despite the decline in revenue, the company reported net profit of Rs 1256 crore for the March quarter, which was considerably higher than the net loss of Rs 397.6 crore recorded in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal year. At the operational level, the company’s performance has increased dramatically. Total expenses for the quarter fell to Rs 1,998.49 crore, down from Rs 2,611.5 crore in the same period in the previous fiscal year. Income before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) soared over 1,100% to Rs 5,898 crore, up from Rs 4.88 crore a year ago.

EBITDA margins also significantly improved to 29.8%, compared with 2.4% in the same period last year. Reliance Power has also made great progress in strengthening its financial situation. The company has successfully provided a total debt obligation worth Rs 53.38 crore in the past year and has reduced its debt-to-equity ratio to 0.88:1 from 1.61:1 in fiscal 2024, now the lowest in the industry. The company said in its exchange filing that its net assets were Rs 1,633.7 billion as of March 31. The company announced its results after Friday’s marketing time. Reliance Power shares closed at Rs 38.79, up 1.39 per cent or Rs 0.53 on May 9 on the National Stock Exchange (NSE).
