Arguing in the ruling coalition in the position of deputy mayor of GVMC

Visakhapatnam: While Peela Srinivasa Rao, District 96th Corporate and leader of the desam floor of Telugu Province, is expected to be elected as the new mayor of the large Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC), the focus has now shifted to the mayor’s position as mayor.

YSRC’s current deputy mayor Jiyyani Sridhar is expected to face a motion of no confidence at a special council meeting on April 26, although sources say Sridhar may choose to resign by April 26.

With the failure of the post, there was fierce competition among TD, Jana Sena and BJP companies to become the next deputy mayor of Visakhapatnam.

From TDP, Gandham Srinivasa Rao (Sect. 76), Bommidi Ramana (Sect. 90), Molli Hemalatha (Wed. 5) and Golagani Mangaveni (Sect. 18) are in the game. Posts followed by JS candidates include Bhisetti Vasanthalakshmi (district 33), Peddisetti Ushasri (district 43), and Dalli Govinda Reddy (district 64). Gangala Kavitha (district 48) of the BJP is also an aspiring person.

The mayor’s position went to Telugu Desam, and JS insisted that the deputy mayor should belong to Jana Sena. However, TD believes that since the outgoing mayor was once a woman in the Yadava community, the position of deputy mayor should go to the Yadava community. However, JS believes that a Kap community candidate like Ganderm Srinivasa Law can become mayors because the outgoing deputy mayor Sridhar is Kapu.

Once, Jana Sena’s Bhisetti Vasanthalakshmi is a favorite. But her chances became dim due to community considerations. The recent YSRC defector Peddisetti Ushasri is working to lobby for the position. But longtime members of the alliance are boycotting her candidacy.

Alliance leaders are analyzing the options before completing the new Visakhapatnam deputy mayoral candidate.
