India attacked Pakistan on Tuesday (18 March 2025) and asked it to “evacuate” Pakistan’s occupation of Kashmir (POK).
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MEA) commented after Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry responded to Narendra Modi’s remarks, which he made in a podcast interview where he said India was trying to establish a normalized relationship with Pakistan to achieve “hostility and betrayal.”
In response to Mr. Modi’s speech (17 March 2025), Islamabad accused India of “inciting terrorism in Pakistan” and “nationally recognized oppression” in Jamu and Kashmir.

“The world knows that the real problem is Pakistan’s active promotion and sponsorship of cross-border terrorism, which are the biggest obstacles to peace and security in the region.
Earlier, Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar also weighed the matter and said that the global order led by the West raised several questions, including one about the “illegal occupation” of Indian territory.
“We all say that this is an important principle and foundation of global rules.
Mr. Jaishankar mentioned POK while explaining Western policy at the United Nations, which demonstrates flaws or contradictions in the Western-dominated world order. He also indirectly mentioned the willingness of Western countries to cooperate with Pakistan’s military dictatorship, while rejecting similar military coups in other countries with democracy and freedom.
Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry commented on Mr. Modi to Lex Friedman’s podcast on Monday (17 March 2025), saying the Indian Prime Minister’s remarks were “misleading”. In his speech, Modi recalled the mini Sark (South Asia Regional Cooperation Association) summit organized during the swearing-in ceremony on May 26, 2014, and Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif invited him. Mr. Modi said in Mr. Friedman: “When I became Prime Minister, I specially invited Pakistan to my oath-in ceremony so that we can turn over a new leaf, but every attempt by the nobles to promote peace is full of hostility and betrayal.”
In response, the Pakistani Foreign Ministry mentioned the “Zhamu and Kashmir dispute” on Monday (March 17, 2025). A spokesman for the Pakistan Foreign Ministry said: “Despite the solemn assurances of the United Nations, Pakistan and Kashmir people, the Jamu and Kashmir dispute that has not been resolved in the past seventy years.”
The remarks come two days after Pakistani authorities accused India and Afghanistan of supporting the Bal route PLA, the army carried out a fatal attack on Quetta-Pshawar Jaffar Express on March 11.
“The anti-Pakistan narrative sent from India has concealed the bilateral environment and hindered the prospect of peace and cooperation,” the Pakistani Foreign Ministry said.
