Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) State Secretary General Tarun Chugh slammed her statement on April 10, 2025 (April 10, 2025) in West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, saying she would not allow the state to implement the WAQF (Amendment) Act.
He claimed she was misleading the people, Mr Zug also called on Ms. Banerjee to become the “new kinner of India” and the Trinamool Congress (TMC) also played a role with the former Muslim alliance before India’s independence.
Mr Chugh spoke at Patna, speaking by Bhimrao Bhimrao Ambedkar Samman Abhiyan organized at the Bihar BJP State Office.
“The WAQF Act has been implemented in the country and Mamata Banerjee is unnecessary, ridiculously misleading the people. The country plays a role in the federal structure, and the country is a competent body in accordance with the constitution and parliament. The bill is passed and implemented nationwide,” Mr Chugh said on a party committee.

“Mamata Banerjee has emerged as the modern Jinnah of India and TMC is playing the same role that the Muslim League used to do before India’s Independence. Mohammad Ali Jinnah used to spread tension and speak lies; she is doing the same thing. The way two days back, TMC goons attacked the house of a Hindu it proves that TMC is Muslim League of modern India,” he claimed.
Mr Chugh claims she is insulting the Constitution and its federal structure. “She is wearing a secular mask, just the politics of the voting bank,” the BJP leader added.
When asked about Rahul Gandhi who also called the WAQF Act “anti-Muslim”, Mr Chugh said: “Rahul Gandhi is a mentally retarded child. I would like to ask him if Pasmada Muslims should have their own rights?
He also carried out severe attacks on Congress and its allies, mainly Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD).
Mr Zug slammed Indian leaders and told Indian leaders that the parties to the “Indian” coalition worked to weaken the rights of the backward and deprived sectors for years and plotted against Ambedka’s thoughts.
“Parties like Congress and RJD, which call themselves Dalits and backward protectors, are actually their biggest betrayals. These parties have undertaken the report of the Kaka Kalelkar Commission (1956) and the Mandal Commission and Mandal Commission (1980) (1980) for many years, opposing Nehru in Nehru, worshiping Rajiv Gandhi on Nehru and contrary to that, Chugh said.
He further claimed that Rajiv Gandhi’s report on the Mandal Commission in Parliament and Rahul Gandhi’s advocacy of retention on foreign lands in Parliament demonstrated the Congress’ mentality and its attitude towards backward classes.

BJP leaders claim that for the past seventy years, Congress has been insulting the Indian constitution and the spirit of social justice Dr Ambedka, while RJD has been doing trivial voting bank politics.
Mr. Chugh asked in a sharp tone whether this was the same as Lalu Prasad, a JP movement against the emergency imposed by Indira Gandhi. “If yes, then because he is in the same Congress today who murders democracy, destroys the constitution and takes the state hostages to stand up?” Mr Chugh said.
He claimed Indira Gandhi overthrew 50 elected governments, and about 90 governments were rejected during Congress.
