Will the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) and Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee benefit? Will the BJP successfully set a narrative of the atrocities of Hindus and their flight? How it will affect West Bengal Parliamentary Election 202

Mershidabad’s violent protest in anti-Waker bill

The violent protests against the WAQF (Amendment) Act 2024 signed the northern part of West Bengal, which left many questions to be answered. How will the demonstrations lead to the death of three men and arrests of more than 150 people affecting the 2026 West Bengal parliamentary elections? Will the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) and Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee benefit? Will the BJP successfully set a narrative of the atrocities of Hindus and their flight?

Ejaz Ahmed was killed in police fire

After a large crowd came out on Friday, violence broke out in Muhidabad and other parts of West Bengal, such as Janjipur, Amtara, Suti, Deliriyan and North 24 Parganas committed violence against the WAQF (Amendment) bill. When policemen tried to stop the crowd, they were bound by stones. State police opened fire at Sajurmore Crossing in NH 12 and killed 21-year-old Ejaz Ahmed.

Other police officers, law and orders director general said jawed shamim said police had to open fire on Friday night to control the mob, adding that 15 police officers were injured in the violence. “But the mob started looting, setting fires on public property and buses and attacking police. We had to resort to firing. Four bullets were fired and two were injured.”

Chandan Das, Hargobind Das invaded to death

In another incident, Chandan Das and his father, Hargobind Das, were hacked to death by a mob. Qian Dan’s wife Pinki told the Indian Express: “We kept calling the police after the attack began. No one answered. Even if they killed my husband and father-in-law, the body was lying near our house for three hours.”

Political analysts believe that violence will certainly affect West Bengal parliamentary elections. Earlier, the main opposition BJP accused Mamata Banerjee of indulging in app raising politics and failing to protect Hindus, while the ruling TMC accused the Saffron Party of trying to split the secular state on the public boundaries by inciting public politics and hatred.

How will the WAQF Act affect the elections of the General Assembly?

The WAQF Act and subsequent protests will surely polarize West Bengal’s politics and drive Muslims into the TMC’s scope more than before. In a state with more than 30% of the Muslim population and more than 100 parliamentary seats, ethnic minorities can determine the fate of candidates, which would be a better political situation for the party.

Of the 42 Muslim MLAs elected to the West Bengal Parliament in 2021, all Muslims except one Muslim legislator belong to the rule TMC. In the 2024 Lok Sabha election, TMC held a swing on a very important seat for Muslims in Lok Sabha, West Bengal, with 17 seats. The BJP has 2 seats. In the 2019 Lok Sabha election, TMC won 14 of these seats, with Muslims accounting for at least 20% of the population. The BJP won four seats, while Congress won two.

Will BJP’s TMC reap rich political dividends?

Public polarization will allow more Hindus to enter the BJP scope, while more Muslims may choose to vote for a party led by Mamata Banerjee. However, on Friday, the TMC MLA MANIRUL ISLAL’s house and the local TMC MP MP Khalilur Rehman’s office were looted. He claimed he wanted to talk to the mixer, but they laughed at him. This shows that the TMC is losing direct contact with the people, who may think they are not with them when the party leaders need him most.

However, Mamata Banerjee puts the responsibility on the BJP. She wrote on social media platforms: “The central government introduced the law.

Is Mamata Banerjee losing connection?

She wondered: “Then why do you want to riot? …Whoever is inciting riots, we will take harsh action against them. We will not tolerate any violence.”

But it’s too late. The BJP narrates the narrative that the state government fails to protect Hindus. After joining the government for three consecutive terms, the party that will evacuate amid widespread corruption and internal quarrels will have to face an anti-temporary wave. Most importantly, any dissatisfaction with most Hindus could complicate the situation and cause incredible problems for the party.
