A few days after Jaffar train hijacking, militants launched suicide attacks on Pakistani military bases, many killing

According to several media reports, the militant group Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), operating along the Afghan-Pakistan border, allegedly carried out suicide attacks on the Jandora military camp in the tank area of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan.

Pakistani news media Geo News reported that Pakistani troops killed eight to nine militants after a suicide attack near the border corps (FC) camp in the southern Waziristan region.

Police officials told the media that Jandora heard a loud explosion followed by heavy gunfire. The militants tried to attack Jandora’s checkpoint but were stopped by Pakistani security forces. But a suicide bomber exploded a car near the football club, and Geo News quoted security sources as saying.
The attack occurred on March 11 when the radical group Baloch People’s Liberation Army (BLA) hijacked the Jaffar Express, a train from Quetta to Peshawar in the strategic Bolan Valley. The train carries more than 450 passengers, including 200 security personnel, and is the center of a high-risk standoff between the BLA and Pakistani security forces.

Pakistani forces reported on Wednesday that they had eliminated all 50 attackers. According to military statements, the attackers killed 21 passengers, while the rest were rescued safely.
