BRS plans campaign to support the needs of government employees

Hyderabad: As part of a step up its offense against Congress, the BRS is expected to launch a campaign to put pressure on state governments to address long-standing demands from government employees. Over the past few weeks, BRS has been very critical of the government on the issue of employee demands.
The BRS was reportedly discussed at a meeting between Party Working Chairman KT Rama Rao and senior leader T. Harish Rao on Friday. Also at the meeting were leaders of employees’ associations, retired officials, and representatives of various teachers and employee unions.
Meeting participants believe that within 18 months of Congress taking office, the situation of government employees deteriorated and the government failed to fulfill its pre-election commitments to employees. Among the unfulfilled promises, there are pending precious allowances, implement the compensation revision committee recommendations, and release pensions and retirement benefits.
Party sources said Rama Rao and Harish Rao assured those meeting at the meeting that, as the main opposition, Boers had the responsibility to speak out for them. Sources said the party is expected to announce a detailed action plan on the matter.
