Building permits for building HMDA areas

Hyderabad: To promote digital governance, the state government has expanded the AI-powered online building approval system to the HMDA area, including future cities and extended villages. It runs in the GHMC area.
“If the building permit is not processed within 21 days within 21 days, it is deemed to be approved in Buildnow. We are working to reduce this duration to 15 days,” a municipal official said.
On Friday, a 26-story high-rise project consisting of six towers was approved in 71 seconds through Buildnow. According to MA and UD, more than 500 applications have been processed in GHMC restrictions through BuildNow since its launch in March 2025.
“This extension reflects our commitment to technology-driven governance, making Telangana a leader in smart, transparent and efficient management,” M. Dana Kishore, chief secretary of MA&UD, said in a statement Friday.
The time spent on building plan review at Buildnow has been greatly reduced, from days to minutes, compared to TGBPass. This quick review is one of the main features of Buildnow.
On Friday, when the drawing file is uploaded, the review is completed in less than four minutes, even if the project is a multi-layer project. While being the fastest painting review system in India is a key advantage of Buildnow, it provides applicants with 24/7 AI-driven assistance, another feature missing in TGBPass.
TGBPASS provides customer service assistance from 10 a.m. to 5.30 p.m. on weekdays, and Buildnow provides real-time status updates about WhatsApp, making it a citizen-centered application. Buildnow’s multi-department integration includes the award of a fire no-objection certificate (NOC) after a rapid review.
