Speaking to media sources, Thakur said that while Bangalore is considered a highly sensitive area because it is a metropolitan city and has several national and international interests in defense and important institutions, Mallapura in Karwar owns Kaiga Atomic Powertation, while Shaktinagara owns Raichur Thermal Power.
Such a first exercise will be held on Wednesday at the Civil Defence Headquarters in Ursol, Bangalore. All members of the city’s council are expected to participate in the exercise. In preparations, civil defense personnel reviewed all 35 air force sirens, which were installed primarily in the famous fire and police stations in Bangalore on Tuesday, and found three police stations malfunctioning. “These sirens can be heard over a radius of 3 km. They indicate high alarms and possible air strikes that may prompt people to safely shelter.”
These exercises are a simulated emergency exercise designed to prepare civilians and officials for real-time security measures. Thakur said in a statement that the exercises will include stimulus alarms, actions to be taken and measures to enter air strikes, as well as other scenarios including fires, searches and rescues in buildings, evacuation of casualties from temporary hospitals, establishment of temporary hospitals and evacuation areas where civilians evacuate from explosives in the endangered Zones killing zone.
Thakur said that the dates set this week will be held this week, similar drills will be conducted in Uttara Kannada, Raichur, Mysuru and Mandya areas.
