ASI sets up tin sheets around Oranzeb’s tomb to remove it

In the middle of the tomb of Mughal Emperor Aorangzeb, located in Sambahajinagar region of Maharashtra, the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) placed tin sheets on both sides of the 18th century structure.
The decision was made two days ago by the district government, when collector Dilip Swami and police chief Vinaykumar Rathod visited Khultabad’s grave together with ASI officials.

A local official said the tin plate and wire fence were placed on both sides of the structure on Wednesday evening (March 19, 2025). A circular fence will also be installed around the grave, a senior official said.

“The green net covering both sides of the grave is in poor condition and the structure can be seen by those visiting the nearby Khwaja Syed Zainuddin Chishti grave. So we have installed tin sheets.” pti.
