Congress broke down the BJP, which was criticized by MPs Nishikant Dubey and Dinesh Sharma, on Sunday (20 April 2025) into “damage control” and asked why nothing was taken against both.

Internal Communications of the Secretary-General of Congress Jairam Ramesh said the “outgoing BJP President” had nothing to do with the alienation of the “cruel remarks” made by the two MPs from India’s Chief Justice (CJI).

“These members of Congress are repetitive criminals in terms of hate speech and are often used by G2 to attack communities, institutions and individuals. The clarification of the outgoing BJP president is nothing more than damage control,” Ramesh said in an article on X.

“It won’t deceive anyone. It’s the whole political science, reflecting itself as the whole political hypocrisy,” he said.

But Mr Ramesh said the “outgoing BJP president” was completely silent about the same unacceptable remarks from the judiciary, while his outstanding appointees continued to hold high constitutional status, Mr Ramesh said, asking him about the remarks and whether the BJP had subscribed to what they had to say.

The former coalition minister further asked: “If repeated attacks on the Indian Constitution, the Prime Minister’s continued silence is not a silent support for them, why did nothing be taken against the two MPs?

The BJP was disconnected from Mr. Dolby and Mr. Sharma’s criticism of the Supreme Court on Saturday, and party chairman JP Nadda called for comment on their personal views.

He also confirmed the respect of the ruling party for the judiciary, an integral part of democracy.

“The BJP has nothing to do with Nishikant Dubey and Dinesh Sharma’s comments on the justice and the chief justice. This is their personal comment, but the BJP disagrees with them and disagrees with such remarks. The BJP absolutely rejects them,” Nadda said in an article on x. ”

He said he had instructed leaders and other party members not to make such comments.

Earlier Saturday, Mr. Dubey, one of the more voiced BJP members in Lok Sabha, launched a broad side to the Supreme Court, saying that Parliament and state parliament should be closed if the Apex court had to make laws.

He also scanned Cji Sanjiv Khanna. Mr. Dolby also claimed CJI Khanna was responsible for the country’s “civil war”.

Mr Sharma, former deputy chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, also criticized the Supreme Court, saying no one could guide the parliament or the president.
