Trump, Putin agrees to stop on Ukraine’s energy website

Washington: U.S. President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin agreed in a long call on Tuesday that strikes on energy infrastructure were suspended immediately during the Ukrainian war, but Russian leaders no longer missed the 30-day suspension to compete with the U.S. government.

The White House described it as the first step in the “peace movement”, hoping that it will include a maritime ceasefire in the Black Sea and ultimately lasting and lasting in combat.

According to the Kremlin, Putin reiterated his request for foreign military and intelligence assistance in Ukraine on the phone.

There is no indication that he has withdrawn from the conditions of a quasi-peace agreement, which Kiev strongly objected. Russia hopes Ukraine retreats its troops from four areas that Moscow annexed but never completely occupied, abandons any prospects of joining the NATO military alliance and cuts its troops significantly.

Shortly after the call, a sirens of air raids in Kiev sounded and then exploded in the city. Local officials urged people to seek asylum.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy told reporters that Ukraine is open to any proposals that lead to sustainable and impartial peace, but stressed the need for adequate transparency in the discussion.

Zelenskyy said he was seeking more details about information that Putin and Trump agreed, but rejected Putin’s need to stop military aid and intelligence sharing with Ukraine, warning that such a move would weaken Ukraine.

“We need to understand what the conversation is,” Zelenskyy said. “What are the details?”

He added: “In this war, there are two aspects – Russia and Ukraine.

Ukrainian officials filed a ceasefire earlier this month covering the Black Sea and long-range missile strikes and the release of prisoners.

Trump immediately cheered on Tuesday’s development, his ultimate goal to end Europe’s largest land war since World War II.

“We agree to stop all energy and infrastructure immediately to understand that we will work quickly to a complete ceasefire and ultimately end this very terrible war between Russia and Ukraine,” Trump said on social media.

The Kremlin said Putin also told Trump that Russia and Ukraine will exchange 175 prisoners of war every Wednesday, and that Russia will also hand over to 23 injured soldiers in Ukraine.

Trump still wants Russia to sign his 30-day ceasefire proposal, aiming to end the 30-day ceasefire proposal for Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, which is a limited pause.

Ukrainian officials last week agreed to a 30-day ceasefire proposal in Saudi Arabia negotiations led by Secretary of State Marco Rubio. The White House Special Envoy Steve Witkoff then met in Moscow to discuss the proposal.

Yet Zelenskyy still doubts Putin is ready as Russian troops continue to slam the Ukraine.
“It’s not just a game where Putin sets rules,” Zelenskyy said, making it clear that he is suspicious that Putin is serious about wanting peace.

Trump-Pudin’s involvement is just the latest shift in the fact that Trump’s rapid end to the conflict is a top priority, even if in keeping in touch with long-term and long-term American allies, they hope Putin pays for the invasion.

Trump instantly boasted about his relationship with Putin and blamed Ukraine for the unprovoked Russian invasion, while accusing Zelenskyy of unnecessarily extending the largest land war in Europe since World War II.

Trump has said Washington and Moscow have begun discussing the “allocation of certain assets” between Ukraine and Russia as part of a deal to end the conflict.

He said before the call that control of land and power plants would be part of the dialogue, 11 years ago the annexation of Ukraine’s Crimea Peninsula on Russia’s anniversary. Russia’s bold land lays the foundation for Russia’s invasion of its neighbors in 2022.

However, neither the White House nor the Kremlin mentioned the land or power plants in their post-call statement.

Witkoff suggested on Sunday that U.S. and Russian officials discussed the fate of the largest Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant in southern Ukraine. Russian troops occupied the factory early in the war and were already in exchange for fire, which heightened concerns about a potential nuclear disaster.

The factory is an important asset, with nearly a quarter of Ukraine’s electricity in the year before the war.

Trump temporarily cut off some military intelligence and provided assistance to Ukraine after the White House met with Zelenskyy on February 28. Ukrainians restored it last week after signing a 30-day ceasefire proposal from the Trump administration.

In dealing with Zelenskyy and Putin, Trump often focused on who has leverage. Trump repeatedly said that Putin had a “card” and Zelenskyy did not.

Trump, who has long expressed admiration for Putin, has also made it clear that he hopes to see U.S.-Russia relations return to normal.
The president complained at a recent controversial meeting with Zelenskyy: “Putin has gone through a lot of hell with me,” a reference to the federal investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election, which defeated Democrat Hillary Clinton.
Trump once again stressed his view on Tuesday that Ukraine is not a strong negotiating position in negotiations. He said Russian troops have surrounded Ukrainian troops in the Kursk region of Russia, expanding claims by the Russian officials questioned by Zelenskyy.

“They surrounded it well, which is not good,” Trump said in an interview with Fox News’ “Ingraham Point.” “We want to overcome it.”

Last August, Ukrainian troops shocked Russia after cross-border attacks and controlled an estimated 1,300 square kilometers (500 square miles) of land. But Ukrainian troops are now retreating and have built momentum due to a ceasefire with Russia, but almost all of them have lost their value bargaining chips.

The White House said Trump and Putin also discussed the situation in the Middle East and agreed that “Iran should never destroy Israel.”

U.S. officials have previously said Iran provided short-range ballistic missiles and attack drones for Ukraine’s war. The United States also said that Iran helped Russia build a drone manufacturing plant.

The Kremlin said Trump also expressed support for an idea Putin put forward in hosting hockey games in the United States and Russia, Russian and American players from the National Hockey League, which has our and Canadian hockey teams, as well as teams including from Russia, Belarus, Kasakhstan and China, including us and Canada’s hockey leagues.
