DGTR recommends tax on imports of copper wire

The Trade Remedy Agency (DGTR) has recommended imports of copper wire from Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia and Indonesia, and recommended an anti-acquisition tax (CVD) of 3.46% to 10.27%. If the Treasury imposes an obligation will hit the edge of the wire manufacturer that is the main importer of the commodity.

The Indian Junior Copper Manufacturers Association filed an application before DGTR. Hindalco Industries Limited and Vedanta Limited provide costing data and are called the household industry to conduct surveys.

PT Karya Sumiden Indonesia exports will face a CVD of 4.98%, while PT Tembaga Mulia Semanan TBK exports will attract 3.75% of the duties. The CVD of any other Indonesian exporter is set at 7.94%. While Metropolitan Malaysia SDN Co., Ltd. will have zero tariffs, DGAD ruled that any other manufacturer must shell our 10.27% CVD. Vietnamese copper producers will phase out 7.13% of CVD.
