Deployed drone surveillance to alleviate traffic congestion in Tirupati

tirupati: To address the busy traffic congestion around Tirupati Railway Station and other busy urban areas, regional police have launched drone surveillance. The program is part of a broader effort to improve traffic management in high-density areas such as Vishnu Nivasam.

The traffic police team led by Circle inspectors Sanjeev Kumar and R. Vinod Kumar monitored the area with drone cameras, as directed by SP v. Harshavardhan Raju. They identified the drivers engaged in reckless driving and observed the jeep using the prohibited air angle, causing noise pollution.

“The violator was fined and the illegal horn was removed on the spot,” a police officer said. Police warned that repeated crimes would lead to strict legal proceedings. The Tirurupati area will continue to monitor traffic violations.

Authorities stressed that the lack of visible police does not mean a lack of law enforcement. Drone surveillance ensures constant surveillance of criminals, including the use of illegal angles and criminals who disrupt public peace.

The new measures are welcomed by locals and tourists who praised improved traffic regulations and safety, especially near pilgrimage areas.
