The Election Commission of India began a two-day election registered officials (EROS) and Booth-level officials (BLOS) in Bihar on Wednesday (30 April 2025), as well as Eros and Blo directors from Haryana, Delhi and Utar Pradesh.

According to an EC official statement, up to 369 grassroots election officials will participate in the hybrid batch training program.

The training program is part of the ongoing preparations that polling agencies are conducting polls in Bihar and other states, the statement said.

Earlier this month, around 280 booth-level agents (Blas) from Bihar were also trained.

Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar said in the training address that BLOS and BLA, together with Blas, are responsible for ensuring correct and updated election lists and are responsible for the representatives of the People’s Law, registration of electoral rules in 1960 and instructions issued by the EC from time to time.

The training is designed to enhance participants’ practical understanding, especially in the areas of voter registration, formal processing and field implementation of election procedures.

The course includes interactive sessions, role-playing simulation indoor surveys, case studies, and hands-on exercises to fill out forms 6, 6a, 7 and 8. In addition, participants will receive hands-on training on the Voter Hotline Service Hotline Server Application (VHA) and BLO Application.

Experienced National Level 1 Master Trainer (NLMT) and expert resource personnel from the IT and EVM departments of the Commission are meeting. Meetings are interactive and will resolve common field-level errors and how to avoid them.

Technical demonstrations of officials and training on EVM and VVPAT will also be provided. EC officials said participants were also familiar with the provisions of the first and second lawsuits for the final election of Rolls-Royce, published under Section 24(a) of the RP Act of 1950 and Section 24(b) Chief Election Officer of the State/United Nations Territory (CE) respectively.
