IPL 2025: KKR vs LSG match in Eden on April 6 may be rescheduled for safety reasons

West Bengal BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari announced more than 20,000 marchs throughout the state during the festival, calling for higher security measures throughout the state.
Snehasish Ganguly, president of the Bangladesh Cricket Association (CAB), confirmed that the match will be rescheduled after two discussions with the police on Tuesday. He said authorities “have not approved the game yet.”
Police said they would not be able to provide adequate security, which made it impractical to host more than 65,000 peopleooplles.

The CAB has since informed the cricket control committee of India (BCCI) about this situation and there is still some time to make a final decision. Ganguly also pointed out that similar situations happened last year when Ram Navami’s scheduled IPL matches were made. “We have notified BCCI and still have time to make a call. Even last year, the IPL matches on Ram Navami must be rescheduled.” The conflict between KKR and LSG is expected to attract a large crowd as both players have star players and fans’ attention.
The IPL 2025 season will begin in Eden on March 22. Defending champion KKR and Royal Challenger Bengaluru will take place.
The grand opening ceremony will last 35 minutes and is expected to showcase the performances of singer Shreya Ghoshal and actress Disha Patani. ICC Chairman Jay Shah and other distinguished guests are expected to attend the event, marking a grand opening in Eden after a long gap.
