One of the coaches of the Electric Multi-Unit (EMU) train derailed at Chennai Beach Railway Station on Tuesday morning (April 22, 2025).
Southern Railway said EmmeU coaches said they left Chennai Beach suburban yard and derailed. No casualties or injuries.
Senior officials from the Chennai branch of the Southern Railway rushed to the scene to carry out the restoration work.
A. Elumalai, public relations officer of the Chennai branch of Southern Railway, said the main track was clear and the cause of the incident was under investigation. Suburban or mail/express traffic is not interrupted, and train services in Chennai Beach run as usual.
Recovery work is completed by 1.30 pm
