Experts call for action to preserve indigenous seeds: Kodanda Reddy

M. Kodanda Reddy, chairman of the Telangana Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Committee, stressed the need for legal measures to eliminate adulterated seeds and protect indigenous seeds.
Near Sunday, he addressed the last day of the three-day seed festival in Anmaspalli, Kadhtal Mandal and the three-day seed festival in Bharat Seed Swaraj Manch, stressing the need to see a statement of 20 urgent points for farmers.
He also stressed the importance of prioritizing women’s role in seed preservation and promoting mixed crop and crop rotation. V. Nagi Reddy, former commissioner of the Telangana State Election Commission, said there were no seed shops in the past because farmers used to store the best seeds after harvest. He added that farmers were forced to leave such practices in the entry of corporate seed companies.
Famous film lyricist Suddala Ashok Teja said he will work with CGR to sing on farmers and seeds and bring them in CD form.
Meanwhile, Nagi Reddy unveiled the book “Arogyamniki Aaharam-Bhadrathaku Vithanam” in the book “Agricultural Policy Analyst Donthi Narasimha Reddy”. CCR provides certificates to experts from various agricultural organizations participating in the event.
