Finance Ministry sanctions €13,9605 crore as part of the maintenance fund for local institutions

The Finance Department has decided to release local bodies from the Ministry of Finance 2025-26 as part of the first maintenance fund (road and non-road). This includes Rs 536.94 crore in non-road components and Rs 859.1 billion on roads.

As part one, Grama Panchayats will receive a total of Rs 87.849 crore, including Rs 6.40 crore for maintaining roads and Rs 23.844 crore for non-road categories.

Block Panchayats will be eligible for Rs 761 billion in the non-road category.

The Panchayats area will receive Rs 63.47 crore for maintenance for road maintenance, with Rs 101 crore for non-road works. Municipal authorities will receive Rs 10.389 crore and Rs 902 crore respectively.

Six companies in the state will receive Rs 516 crore and Rs 3111 crore for road and non-road categories, respectively.

The state government has allocated Rs 4,188.15 crore for the maintenance fund (road and non-road) in the fiscal year 2025-26 budget. The first part approved now accounts for one-third of this amount.
