A leopard campus that has made the International Crop Research Institute campus successfully captured by the Telangana Forest department in his home in the suburbs of Hyderabad (ICRISAT) and was entrapped on Wednesday, April 16, 2025.

Forest Department officials confirmed the news and informed the big cat that was a healthy male, about five or six years old.

It is suspected that there is another leopard still roaming the campus. The two cats were recently captured on drone images in Icrisat after several sightings by field staff.

Sangareddy area forest official Sridhar Rao told the Sangareddy area that two trap cages were built on campus on Wednesday to rescue cats.

This is not the first time a leopard has been rescued from Icrisat’s huge tiny prey. In 2014 and 2019, Big Cats have been reported and captured through a lot of effort.

In the current situation, these animals may have entered the campus long ago, from near the rocky terrain, Mr. Sridhar Rao was speculated.
