Former bureaucrat error Telangana government in forest gap in Kancha Gachibowli government

A group of 67 retired civil servants condemned the government’s recent clearance of 100 acres of woodland in Kancha Gachibowli.
In a statement on the Constitutional Conduct Group label, the signatory state, which serves as a key position among central and state governments, accused the government of violating the Supreme Court’s directive and ignoring environmental issues.
The statement said Kancha Gachibowli may be defined as a forest land according to a dictionary and marked as a “wasteland” (usually indicating grassland or matte forest) based on official land records. Responding to reports in some parts of the media, the government plans to transform the entire extension (including university land) into an eco-park, noting: “Eco-park is not a forest. It is a people-centered activity and is inconsistent with the Supreme Court’s instructions.”
The statement acknowledged that the government had recently withdrawn the confrontation and tried to find a solution. The statement warned that the reported private participants and their proposed land auction. “Telangana’s opportunities have the potential to waste governance and environmental liability risks,” the statement said.
Signators include former Home Secretary GK Pillai, former ambassador to Japan and Portugal, former chief secretary, senior police officer and other police officers from all over India.
