Woman chasing after wild elephant

A 52-year-old female tea plantation worker was injured after chasing a wild elephant in Kallar near Munnar in Idukki on Thursday. The injured woman was identified as Shiny, a resident of Aarumuri Layams (cluster) in Nallathanni, near Munnar.

According to local residents, the incident occurred around 7.30 a.m. when Shiny traveled to the tea garden with other workers. When a wild elephant standing on the road quickly fell and was injured. The other workers nearly escaped. The injured woman was taken to a private hospital in Monal.
