HC Bars Bars Online Platform after harassment from publishing woman’s river rafting clip

On April 16, the court sent a notice to the center, platform, lecturers and travel agencies in response to the women’s plea.
The court also directed the center to issue a hearing on July 22 in view of relevant rules and regulations.
“During this period, in light of the above, respondents 2 to 5 (social media platforms) were instructed to delete the URL to which they published/distributed the video. In the memo of the parties, the description of the URL was listed.”
They were also instructed to take the necessary steps to prevent posting video clips.
The woman claimed to have violated her privacy rights by posting videos on several online platforms without her consent and knowledge. She said she went on vacation to Rishikesh in March 2025 and booked a river wandering exercise by the travel agency. According to the advice of the drifting instructor, she recorded her own drifting experience through the GoPro camera and provided additional services.
The request said the lecturer recorded a video of the after-sub, including the petitioner, in which she could see her in a “completely panic” state, “which would not portray her in good lights.”
As a result, she said she was “reduced to the prey of cyber abuse, cyberbullying, threats, hatred, trolls and harassment.”
In addition, the request said that her personal freedom, peace, security and security were seriously compromised.
It said the video was for the personal use of the petitioner, but coaches and travel agencies posted it to third parties without their knowledge and consent.
The defense requested the court to issue instructions to prevent further harassment of the woman and to ensure her privacy protection.
