Hindu community leader Chandra Roy was kidnapped and beaten to death in Bangladesh

Chandra’s wife Shantana Roy said in the newspaper that four men kidnapped two motorcycles from their residence on Thursday and kidnapped Bhabesh.

As local police and family confirmed, in another violence in Bangladesh, Hindu leaders in Biral Upazila in Dinapur were kidnapped and brutally attacked to death. According to local media reports, the man, Bhabesh Chandra, is an outstanding leader of the Hindu community in the region, also served as vice chairman of the Biral department of Puja Udjapan Parishad, Bangladesh.

Chandra’s wife Shantana Roy said in Bangladesh’s leading newspaper that the four kidnapped two motorcycles from their residence on Thursday and kidnapped Babush. Several witnesses also reported that the attackers took Babush to the village of Narabari, where he was brutally beaten.

Later that day, the attacker put bhabesh’s unconscious body back to his home. He was immediately taken to Biral Upazila Health Complex. He was subsequently transferred to the Dinapur Medical College Hospital, where doctors announced he died on arrival.

The head of the Biral police department said police are working to identify and arrest the suspects involved and are preparing to file a lawsuit.

Last month, a report by Dhaka-based human rights group Ain O Salish Kendra (Inquiry) highlighted reports that 147 incidents have been caused by houses, temples, temples and commercial institutions in the Hindus community in Bangladesh.

About 408 houses were damaged in these incidents, including 36 arson cases. In addition, there are reports of 113 incidents of damaging commercial institutions owned by minority communities, 32 incidents in temples and mosques of Ahmadi sects, and 92 incidents that caused idols in 92 temples.

In September 2024, the country’s leading Bangladesh Daily Protom Alo reported several attacks on ethnic minority communities across the country, especially in Hindu communities, following the collapse of the Awami Alliance government. In many areas, houses, commercial institutions and places of worship for Hindus continue to be under attack.

Bangladesh has been struggling to deal with violence and protests last year after the interim government led by Muhammad Yunus came to power in August last year. Under the Provisional Government led by Yunus, the situation for Hindus deteriorated drastically. Shocking reports of people who gang rape, murder and blasphemy of Hindu minorities.

Time and again India has attracted attention to the atrocities of Hindus and other ethnic minorities in Bangladesh.

Earlier this month, Prime Minister Narendra Modi raised the issue of security and security of ethnic minorities, including Bangladesh, which was held on the sidelines of the Bimstec summit in Bangkok.

“About the issue of minorities, this particular issue is discussed. We have been paying attention to the treatment of minorities and the violence that occurs to them. We have been making this point in several conversations, including at our meeting in Bangkok, which is a violence and atrocities against Bangkok, and we will oppose these politics or media. Foreign Ministry spokesman Randhir Jaiswal said recently in a media briefing.
