India will be the top 5 markets for Mercedes Maybach

Pune:Mercedes-Benz, India’s largest German luxury carmaker, is viewing the Indian market as its top five global markets, while billionaires and millionaires are watching the Maybach brand.
“India has become one of the most important markets for the Mebach brand, and India has the potential to become one of our top five global markets in the next few years,” Daniel Lescow, head of Mercedes-Maybach, Mercedes-Maybach, Mercedes-Maybach, said on Tuesday.
“With the launch of the Mercedes-Mebach SL 680, we pay tribute to India’s keen customers,” he noted.
The Pune-based automaker has launched the most sporty Maybach, the SL 680 monogram series sold at Rs 42 crore in Pan India Showroom. This is a premium open 2-seater luxury car that debuted worldwide last year.
Lesco said the Mercedes-Mabach brand experienced 140% growth in 2024, selling about 500 units to the elite in India. He said the surge has lifted India to the top 10 global markets of the Maybach brand.
The depth of India and Maybach dates back to the 19th century, when the Indian royal family was one of the brand’s first customers.
“This trend continues today and India is now playing a key role in Maybach’s global growth strategy,” Lesco said.
Mercedes-benz India Mercedes- and CEO Santosh Iyer said: “Maybach Brand firmly establishes its pinnacle of luxury and exclusivity in India, emphasizing the sophisticated design, rare craftsmanship and the best quality materials for Indian customers.”
From offering the finest Mercedes-Maybach to India’s first electric Maybach ever and the first ever “Maybach Lounge” in India, he said, the brand’s journey in India is remarkable.
Ayer said the ultra-luxury segment remains its constant focus, attracting excellent responses from established Indian customers.
The Maybach SL 680 is powered by a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine and can produce 585 hp and 800 nm. It is paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission that sends power to all four wheels via a 4matic all-wheel drive system.
Mercedes claims that the SL 680 can sprint from 0-100 km/h in 4.1 seconds, with a top speed of 260 km/h.
