Indian Railways adopt ‘salute’ action on electronic tickets and radio stations

A spokesman for the Ministry of Railways said on Monday (May 19, 2025) that the Indian Armed Forces conducted messaging related to the “Action of the Indian Armed Forces” on its e-ticket and presented it on its e-ticket.
The message on the electronic ticket reads: “Operation Sindor has proposed a new route in the fight against terrorism…a new standard that has set new routines.”
The spokesperson added: “Message delivery related to the use of Sindoor Operation on electronic tickets is our way of paying tribute to the brave heart of the Indian army.”
The messaging is also highlighted on the railway’s ticket booking platform, the Indian Railways Catering and Tourism Company (IRCTC) website. The platform is currently playing a documentary with footage from URI, Pulwama and Pahalgam conflicts. The documentary also includes silent scenes of a meeting with National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and others.
“The documentary has been shared by the Department of Defense and we are running it on the IRCTC platform,” Pokespers said.
In addition, about 200 railway stations have been illuminated with tri-color shadows to commemorate “Operation sindoor”. The railway announced that designated seats and waiting rooms on the platform will be retained for soldiers.
“Different organizations related to the railway organized the Prabhat Pheris, Tiranga Yatras and Nukkad Nataks or the street play to pay tribute to our soldiers,” the spokesperson said.
