High Court requests disqualification

A petition for Public Interest Litigation (PIL) was filed in the Madras High Court, announcing the general swearing in by the Minister of Forest K. Ponmudy against Saivites, Vaishnavites and women, and opposed him, thus disqualifying him and therefore disqualifying any constitutional post.
Chennai advocate B. Jagannath filed a PIL petition, citing that the minister’s alleged derogatory remarks were directed against the constitution, requiring each minister to swear that he/she will be willing to all kinds of people without fear or love, affection or illness.
The petitioner pointed out that even Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam leader and Thoothukudi Lok Sabha member Kanimozhi condemned the minister’s speech at a meeting held on April 8 at Thanthai Periyar Dravidar Kazhagam in Chennai, and therefore, it was April 8 and therefore, it was necessary to act.
