Israel kills Hezbollah commander in Lebanon | World News

Israel’s army said in a statement that it killed a Hezbollah commander in a drone strike in southern Lebanon.

The strike targeted the Brida area and killed Ali Ibar al-Nabi Khadi, who was identified by the military as Hezbollah’s deputy director in the Mahibib area.

Meanwhile, a Lebanese security source who asked not to be named confirmed to Xinhua News Agency that the Israeli drone strike killed a man in southern Lebanon Thursday, identifying the dead as Hezbollah member Ali Abdel Nabi Hijazi from the village of Brida.

Lebanon Public Health Emergency Operations Centre and Safety Sources said the man was hit while riding a motorcycle, as Xinhua News Agency reported.

On Thursday, a department of the Lebanese army reported that an Israeli spy device was removed in Blida, warning civilians not to approach or touch such objects because they pose a risk of life.

A ceasefire agreement between Hezbollah and Israel has been in effect since November 27, 2024, ending more than a year of conflict triggered by the Gaza Strip War.

Despite agreements, Israeli troops occasionally strike in Lebanon, claiming that their purpose is to neutralize the “threat” posed by Hezbollah.

Israel said Thursday it carried out air strikes in southern Lebanon and the Gaza Strip against what it described as Hamas and Hezbollah infrastructure.

The Israeli military said it attacked the ruins of Hezbollah in southern Lebanon.

“The IDF (Israel Defence Force) will target any attempt by Hezbollah to rebuild or build a military presence under the guise of civilian cover,” it said in a statement.

Additionally, the Israeli army and Shin Bet’s domestic security agency said they had a strike against Jabalia in northern Gaza to what they call the Hamas command and control center goal.

The military said the site has been used to “plan and carry out terrorist attacks on Israeli civilians and troops.”
