Kagiso Rabada returns to India to be used for the next match in Gujarat Titans after completing the “treatment plan”

South Africa and Gujarat Titan Pacers Kagiso Rabada returned to India to have the next match of choice against the Mumbai Indians on Tuesday at Wankhede, Cricbuzz reported. Rabada reportedly arrived in India on Saturday and headed to Mumbai with the team on Sunday. Labada admitted that it had not passed the recreational drug for coating testing and was discontinued. “I recently participated in the IPL for personal reasons. This is due to my poor analysis of the use of recreational drugs, I'm temporarily suspended and I look forward to my enjoying playing games,” the 29-year-old said. ”The substances consumed by pacemakers are not yet known. South Africa's Institute of Medicine-free Sports will test him and will issue a statement later that day. This may reveal more details and where Rabada’s violations are in line with the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) code.
“Mr. Rabada tested positive for the abused substance and was subsequently notified of his allegations of accusation of his doping crime on April 1, 2025. A temporary suspension was imposed and Mr. Rabada immediately returned to South Africa from India,” said the sports of the South African Institute of Drug-Free Sports (said) released.
It added: “Mr. Labada satisfactorily completed two sessions of his treatment plan and his temporary suspension ended. The player has actually served for a month of unqualified period and may now resume sports.”

WADA has identified cocaine, methyldimethylmethamphetamine (MDMA/ecstasy), diaminoglycolamide (heroin), and tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) (cannabinoids) as recreational drugs.

Abuse of this drug could lead to a ban of up to four years, but the suspension could be reduced to three months if athletes can prove that such use occurs outside of competition and is not related to performance improvements. The athlete's ban can be further reduced to two months if he is willing to conduct a treatment plan approved by the South African Anti-Doping Agency.
