Kajal plays Mandodari in Ramayana

Kajal Aggarwal will play Lanka’s wise and dignified queen Mandodari, opposite Ravana of Yash with Nitish Tiwari’s Magnum Opus Ramayana.

The actor, last seen in Salman Khan’s Sikandar, has filmed several key scenes. According to sources close to production, the role of mandadari is considered too important to be easily treated. “Manufacturers are eager to play a well-known actor in the appeal of Pan India. Mandodari’s role in Ramayana is very important and someone who can reflect the complexity and depth of Ravana Queen” said the source.

Mandodari is an epic figure of power and grace, often portrayed as the rational voice of the Kingdom of Lanka. “She is a moral compass, a woman with deep sympathy for human suffering. Kahar is a natural choice to portray these emotional nuances,” the source added.

Ramayana plays Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi as goddess Sita, Sunny Deol as Hanuman, and Lara Dutta as Kaikeyi. The first part of the film will be released in Diwali 2026.
