Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) legislators raised the issue of Hazaribagh Stone Pelting in Jharkhand Assembly on March 26, 2025 (March 26, 2025). The BJP MLAS carries a placard with a placard, calling the government “anti-Hinduism”. They also asked Jharkhand not to become “Second Kashmir”.

The stones were allegedly bound in a religious parade in the Hazaribagh area of Jharkhand, causing tensions in the area. The incident happened around Jama Masjid Chowk on Tuesday around 11 p.m. as part of the Ram Navami celebrations, where a Mangla parade was underway.

Babulal Marandi, leader of the opposition in Jharkhand, accused the Soren government of doing political defiance.

Marandi said: “The state government is now doing app politics, which has increased morale from antisocial factors in Jharkhand. Even during Holi, this kind of incident happened.

He further said that the government is equipped with the latest technology, and whenever any religious organization phases out religious parades, CCTV and drones should be installed.

“In the next few days, there were Ram Navami, Eid and Sharhul [a major tribal festival] Only Indian music festivals are targeted, which is a very concerning issue. You have never heard of the Hindus performing stone drills while offering a devotion during the Muharram parade or attack Namaz. Why did the attack only happen at Indian music festivals? ” asked Mr. Marandi.

He asked the state government to identify and take strict action against antisocial factors.

To calm the situation down, police had to resort to firing in the air, but no casualties were found. According to police, the stone play begins playing the music system with common songs on it.

Congress leader and minister Neha Shilpi Tirkey accused the BJP of public and discord.

“They want to impose the president’s rule by injecting community violence in Jharkhand. People in the state will not forgive them for doing such things. They are known for their riots and violence. They cannot digest the huge victory that the Indian group has won in parliamentary elections. Even the huge victory of the ‘action lotus’ is no longer successful.”

Hazaribagh BJP MLA Pradeep Prasad expressed anger at the so-called resilience of the stone, saying the government should take strict action on the matter. “It was a well-planned attack, and the lights were turned off before the incident. What were the police doing at the time,” Prasad said.

When the House raised questions, Mr. Sauron himself raised concerns about the state’s legal and order situation. He added that his administration will deal with any hate plots in the state.

“We have provided guidance to closely monitor antisocial factors that intend to undermine public harmony. Police are paying close attention to such elements,” Sauron said.

Jharkhand Mukti Morcha MLA and Minister Sudivya Kumar claimed that such incidents occurred anywhere where the BJP was not in power.
