Bangalore Football Club claims team owner, fans are attacked by supporters of Moon Banden

Bangalore: Last week, Bangalore Football Club claimed on Tuesday that its owner, Parth Jindal, suffered “burns and bruises” in the timid attack of the super giants against Mohun Bagan in the Indian Premier League final last week.
The club said a live firecracker was thrown into the stands and BFC supporters suffered eye injuries at the time of the incident.
The Blues lost 1-2 in overtime and said they had filed a formal complaint with the All India Football Federation (AIFF).
“Bangaluru Football Club strongly condemned the reckless and timid attacks of some home fans against our travel supporters, and firecrackers were thrown into the stands during the ISL final against Mohun Bagan Super Giant on Saturday.
“This incident caused BFC supporters to have eyes injured in need of treatment, while other supporters, including club owner Parth Jindal, suffered burns and bruises,” said the BFC in a strong position on ‘X’.
The club also urged AIFF and ISL organizers FSDL to take strong actions to ensure fans are safe in the stadium.
“The club has filed formal complaints with AIFF and FSDL and is working closely with the federal and league to ensure the incident is resolved and to address ways to provide precedent for fans safety norms at the stadium.
“This kind of action not only harms the spirit of our beautiful game. The stadium should be a safe space-now and forever. This kind of action has no place in football or anywhere.”
On April 12, Mohun Bagan Super Giant won an unforgettable ISL doubles, adding the cup to the league-winning shield that he won earlier this season after a 2-1 win over Bangalore Football Club in a tense final.
After no goals in the first half, Mohun Bagan’s Alberto Rodr.guez scored his own goal in the 49th minute, giving Bengaluru FC the lead. Mohn showed forward Jason Cummings then returned to equality in the 72nd minute after he hit the free throw.
The game entered overtime, with Jamie MacLaren scoring a decisive goal after six minutes (96th) triggering the celebration at Salt Lake Stadium.
After Mumbai achieved this feat in the 2020-21 season, Mohun Bagan became the only second team in ISL history, namely the shield that won the league championship in the same season and the ISL Cup in the same season.
