Police said Thursday that a man was allegedly killed by his wife and her lover, and later he placed a poisonous snake near his body to cover up the crime. An autopsy report shows that the man was strangled to death and blow up their conspiracy.
Police said the woman, Ravita (30) and her lover Amardeep (20), who are friends of her husband, have been arrested.
Circle official (CO) Abhishek Kumar Patel said the incident occurred in the village of Akbarpur Sadat in the Behsuma Police Department area.
“Alias Amit Kashyap (30) was found dead at his home on Sunday morning. A poisonous snake was found near his bed, leading him to assume he died of a snake bite,” Patel told PTI.
However, the autopsy report said he died of suffocation. “We conducted a detailed investigation into the case according to the report,” the company said.
Patel said during the inquiry, Ravita (30) admitted that she and Amadip (20) planned and carried out the murder.
“The two were accused of strangling Amit and then placing the snake near his body to make it look like an accident. The snake was trapped under the body and bitten several times, which caused confusion in the preliminary investigation,” he said.
Amardeep, also from Amit’s Village, has a relationship with Ravita. Police said Amit learned about their relationship and argued regularly with his wife.
Ravita and Amardeep have been detained. They said further legal proceedings in the case are underway.
