All Muslim elected representatives will protest at the WAQF (Amendment) in Mangaluru on April 18 and April 29. Dakshina Kannada Muslim Janapratinidhidhigala Okkoota fully supports both protests, Okkoota President Siraj Bajpe said.

Speaking to reporters in Mangaluru, Mr. Siraj said the protests on April 18 were called by Ulemas, while the protests on April 29 were protests by the Central Committee of Muslims.
Mr Siraj said the protests were to clear some misunderstandings, including obtaining the property of Hindus by declaring Hindus as WAQF property. The BJP government has amended the WAQF bill to support capitalists. He claimed that the central government was trying to inspire discord between Hindus and Muslims.
