Nainar Nagenthran urges TN Govt to fill second-level teachers vacancy

BJP Governor Nainar Nagenthran asked Chief Minister MK Stalin on Wednesday to intervene, urging him to take immediate steps to fill the vacancies for Level 2 teachers to appoint those who have already passed the qualification test conducted by the Teacher Recruitment Board (TRB).
“Pupils in public schools in Tamil Nadu have been suffering due to the shortage of teachers. At this juncture, failure to appoint candidates who pass the qualification test for the second-level teacher position will not only undermine the future of our students and teachers, but also the quality of education,” Mr Nagenthran said in a statement.
He said many candidates who qualify for the test are in trouble without a job. Some of these qualified candidates are over 50 years of age and they continue to suffer teaching work. He also claimed that during the 2021 election, DMK promised to fill second-grade teacher vacancies in schools and failed to fill after taking office.
“If the state government cannot provide appointments for teachers who pass the qualification test, what is the purpose of taking the exam through the TRB? Just waste time and suppress the hopes of young aspiring young aspiring people who are determined to learn that they will find a government job?” he asked.
