New Zealand weather changes; countries that rain next week will have strong winds next week

The weather information of New Zealand private forecasting agencies comes from the 10-day outlook published at 12:26 am New Zealand time on March 28, 2025. While high pressures may recover later in April, direct forecasts mark a run against recent dry and warm conditions.
According to the announcement, storms and high pressure collapse in the Southern Ocean are key factors driving this change.
New Zealand’s recent weather is characterized by high pressure, causing conditions in many areas to be drier and warmer than usual.
“There will be rain and rain to many areas next week, as high pressure finally slips over a period of time, allowing low pressure, frontline and cooler air to join in the mix. The Southern Ocean is a storm in April, with high pressure erupting later next week and in the first week of April. After that, high pressure may return, but the weather pattern of NZ can be changed next week.”
Changes in weather patterns are attributed to the locations that the high-pressure system ends up giving the weather so that the low-pressure, front and cool air affects the weather. Increased storm activity in the Southern Ocean is another contributing factor in this weather transfer. The high-voltage system is expected to break down later next week and early April. After this period, high pressure may recover. The upcoming weather shift is in stark contrast to the dry and warm conditions of the previous few days, affected by consistent high pressure. Weaker south winds brought some showers to the country on Thursday and Friday, March 27 and March 28. New Zealand’s driest parts are expected to remain relatively dry for the rest of March, except for some potential showers. The high-voltage system dominated the weather throughout March.
